Syed Muaz Shah, a seasoned lawyer and legal academic, brings nearly 5 years of expertise in teaching Islamic law and Human Rights at the university level. He is the co-founder of Ziauddin University's law program and served as it's Director for the Centre for Human Rights where he focused on advocacy, training, and awareness for various human rights issues, collaborating with INGOs and local partners.
Recently establishing the Centre for Islamic Law & Human Rights (CILHR), Syed Muaz aims to bridge understanding between Islamic legal provisions and human rights, providing consultancy to government and NGOs.
Currently serving as the Legal Coordinator at the OIC-affiliated Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (ICCIA), he promotes ADR through the OIC – Arbitration Centre and leads efforts in the Green Waqf Initiative, focusing on sustainable charitable models to combat climate change. Syed Muaz Shah's roles reflect a commitment to law, human rights, and global sustainable development.
