SHAZIA MIRZA
FOUNDER & CEO
Shazia Mirza is the visionary Founder and CEO of Manzil Educational Organization, established in 2002. A passionate advocate for education, she is currently pursuing her PhD in Educational Leadership and Management. Shazia is also the CEO of the School of Affective Leadership Development (SALD), a pioneering initiative focused on introducing affective leadership practices in Pakistan. Her research interests are diverse, encompassing topics such as corporal punishment, the plight of street children, the development of an Affective Islamiat Curriculum, mentoring young minds, enhancing teacher productivity, and the integration of socio-emotional learning in curricula.
In addition to her educational pursuits, Shazia is the Director of the Farogh-e-Iqbaliyat Forum (FIF), which promotes the inspirational messages in Iqbal’s poetry to Pakistan’s youth, starting from Karachi University. Her leadership roles have extended to being the president of Commissioner Karachi's Youth team (CKYT) and the President of the FPCCI-CSR Youth Committee, where she has facilitated numerous trainings for young individuals. Internationally, she has represented Pakistan in the USA and Turkey, delivering trainings alongside her team. Notably, she was part of the first Pakistani team to visit the Syrian borders to distribute humanitarian aid.
Shazia's work as a social entrepreneur is marked by her commitment to out-of-school children, for whom she has developed a unique educational model. Her research paper on “Impact of Mentoring on At-risk youth” presented in Abu Dhabi in 2017 reflects her dedication to this cause. She has been instrumental in mentoring hundreds of volunteers for community-based projects and is known for her dynamic training programs on a range of educational topics.
Furthermore, through SALD, Shazia has provided training and consultancy services to diverse professionals, including law enforcement officers and educators. Her workshops, both in Pakistan and internationally, are aimed at inspiring and developing leadership qualities among the youth. Shazia’s commitment to children’s rights is evident in her development of the ‘Jugnu-kids without borders’ program, which focuses on aiding children in disaster-stricken areas. Her holistic approach to leadership and education, combined with her tireless advocacy for children’s rights, make her a distinguished figure in the educational landscape of Pakistan.
