Dr. Fatima Dar, the esteemed President of Manzil Educational Organization, is an accomplished academic with a rich background in education and cognitive science. She obtained her PhD from Asia e University, Malaysia, specializing in Education and Cognitive Science. Additionally, Dr. Dar holds an MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, USA, and an MA in English from Government College University, Lahore.
Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Dar has made significant contributions in various educational roles. She has served as a teacher educator, consultant, and faculty member at several prestigious institutions, including the Ali Institute of Education, Lahore Grammar School, Society for the Advancement of Higher Education (SAHE), FAST, Aga Khan University, Beaconhouse National University, Virtual University of Pakistan, and IoBM, Karachi. Her expertise has been recognized internationally, evidenced by her role as a visiting tutor at the Institute of Education, University of London and University of Warwick, and her selection for the Charles Wallace Trust visiting fellowship in 2000.
Dr. Dar has been actively involved in numerous teacher training, curriculum, and materials development projects across Pakistan. She has also contributed her expertise to ESRA-USAID as a consultant in Professional Development and Action Research. Her insights into teacher education and English education are well-respected, with numerous national and international papers and publications to her name.
Previously, she has held the position of Head of the Education Department and Assistant Professor at SZABIST, Karachi. Her motivation for joining Manzil is rooted in her commitment to elevating educational standards for marginalized sections of society, and her admiration for the team's dedication to reintegrating out-of-school children into the education system.
Currently, Dr. Dar is also the CEO and lead consultant at Oak Consulting. This consultancy specializes in a broad spectrum of educational services, including teacher development and research, curriculum and materials development, educational reforms, monitoring and evaluation, as well as corporate leadership, soft skill development, information technology, and language development. Her extensive experience and multifaceted expertise make her a vital asset to Manzil and the broader educational community.
